Feedchem’s sand mould and core coating products help
foundry operators achieve the best available casting surface finishes.

Graphite Refractory Coatings

Graphite Paste

Graphite paste is a paste made out of graphite coatings, and it is recommended for all types of light to the heavy section GI/SG iron castings. Graphite paste is suitable for mould/cores, made out of the Sodium Silicate CO2 system and other organic systems like Oil Sand, Shell, Cold Box, Hot Box sand systems, etc.

Graphite Ready for Use

These are superior ‘ready to use’ graphite coatings, and are recommended for:- all types of GI and SG Iron castings, all types of light to heavy section Iron castings, manufacturing of Ingot moulds, etc. Also, these are suitable for Sodium Silicate CO2, Green sand & other organic binder systems based on their grade.

Advantages

  • It provides better suspension and ensures uniform coverage of refractory fillers.
  • The high refractoriness of the coating prevents sand burn on and penetration, which in turn reduces fettling cost.

Advantages

  • Because of the good suspension, it is easier to get a uniform coverage of the coating on mould cores.
  • A blend of high-quality graphite ensures good casting peel and reduces fettling cost.

Aluminium Silicate Refractory Coatings

There are Aluminium Silicate based refractory coatings that have low reactivity to metal oxide offered in a slurry & ready configuration. A gas permeable coating that has low reactivity to metal oxide offered in slurry configuration etc. They are recommended for G.I. and S.G iron castings, suitable for Sodium Silicate CO2 systems and other organic binder systems like cold box/hot box/shell/oil sand, etc.

Advantages:

  • Incorporation of high-quality Aluminium Silicate that has high thermal resistance & permeability ensures smooth casting finish and the product is free from casting defects.
  • Excellent suspension properties help to get uniform coverage
    consistently.
  • Blend of high-quality refractoriness and good finish ensures good casting peel and reduces fettling costs.

Zircon Refractory Coatings

Zircon Paste

It is recommended for all types of light to heavy section GI/SG iron and steel castings. It is suitable for mould/cores made out of Sodium Silicate CO2 system and oil sand / Shell / Hot Box / Cold Box etc. based on the grade.

The Zircon Water Base coating paste is specifically developed for Dip application.

Zircon Powder

Zircon powder is an alcohol based coating powder and it is recommended for all types of light to heavy section Carbon and Alloy steel castings. It is suitable for moulds/cores made of Sodium Silicate CO2 system and other sand systems.

Advantages

  • The better suspension ensures uniform coverage of refractory fillers.
  • Higher refractoriness of the coating prevents sand burn on and
penetration, which in turn reduces fettling cost.

Advantages

  • Superior suspension ensures a uniform coat application.
  • High refractoriness of the coating ensures better casting surface finish.

Mixed Refractory Coatings

These mixed refractory coatings are available in both paste and ready for use forms. They are recommended for all types of heavy GI/SG Iron castings and steel castings. These high refractory, high heat resistance coatings are suitable for Sodium Silicate CO2, Green Sand & all organic binder systems.

Advantages:

  • High refractoriness of the coating gives better surface finish & reduce
    fettling cost.
  • The blend of high quality refractoriness ensures good casting peel which gives complete and uniform coverage of the cores with fillers. This, in turn, ensures a good casting finish free from fusion and penetration, and, hence lowers the casting cleaning costs.

Magnesite Refractory Coatings

Magnesite Powder

These are recommended for all types of light to heavy section manganese steel castings and are suitable for moulds/cores made of Sodium Silicate CO2 system and other sand systems.

Magnesite Ready for Use

These are ready to use Magnesite alcohol based coatings. They are recommended for all types of light to heavy section Manganese steel castings and are suitable for mould/cores made out of Sodium Silicate CO2 and other sand systems

Advantages

  • Prevents metal – mould reaction.
  • High refractoriness of the coatings ensures better casting surface finish.

Advantages

  • Good suspension ensures uniform coverage of the coating.
  • High refractoriness of the coating gives a better surface finish and
    reduces fettling cost.
